Book-in-hand Day is one of the most wonderful days for an author. Five years of work and here it is. Something that never existed before in this world before has made into a reality. A hold-in-my hand real thing. I can’t wait to see the final product. To feel the gloss of the book jacket. And hold the heft of it in my hand.

WATCH the Book Trailer!

I wrote the script, and my wonderfully creative son made the trailer. (He originally got his degree in video and communications and has now moved on to build another business.) He tells me he is now retired from video. I tell him, At least until I write my next book!

I’m thrilled with how the trailer turned out.

Do you like book trailers? I adore them.

Price

Many things go into choosing a price range for a book and I don’t have control over many of them. Here’s what I know.

The Clean Daughter is twice as long as my first book. Twice as much paper is needed to make it. Twice the printing costs. Twice the weight to ship. It’s a hardback which is more expensive to make because it has cardboard in the cover and a fancy printed book jacket. Prices for materials and shipping have gone up significantly. All that adds up. That’s just the business side of books.

A copy of The Clean Daughter includes shipping and tax. (USA only sales at this time)

The book jacket says the book will sell for $32.95. If I add shipping and tax it will be over $40 which is just to much to ask.

I’ve decided to sell it for a straight $35. That price includes the cost of taxes and I’ll foot the shipping myself. Seems fair. Plus it’s a nice round number which I appreciate.

$35 will bring to your door:

  • an author-signed, first edition, hardback copy of The Clean Daughter: A Cross-Continental Memoir

  • a hand-painted thank you card

  • a yummy surprise gift included with each book

Thank you for supporting my writing by purchasing through my website. I appreciate it! If you prefer, you can also support NDSU Press by buying directly through them. Whichever way you choose to purchase: thank you!

Happy Reading!

Love always,

Jill
