You Lived Where?

Here’s a map of Zambia. Click on it. The red dot is Kalabo Village.  Scroll in and out to get your footing in the world.

Come with me.

Board an airplane. Fly from the USA to The Netherlands. Board again. Fly to Lusaka, Zambia.

Board a dilapidated bus. Travel west ten or twelve or twenty hours depending on the trip. Go through Kafue National Game Park. Travel to Mongu.

Board a leaky banana boat canoe thing. Travel northwest eight or ten or twelve hours. Pass the Zambezi River, go left at the fork and up the Luanginga River. Get out in Kalabo.

Take Road 459. Follow it into town and there it is. The house I lived in.

Google maps is crazy weird. It makes my head spin. There’s the house. There’s the floodplain. It’s like I never left.

Wow, this brings back a lot of memories.
I think you should re-visit and take Kristine and Joran with you
