Website Makeover

My website and I spent a week together doing a Make Over with web designer and friend, Eric Heuer.

The big question is: How Often Should A Website Be Updated? Do you really need a website makeover?

According to itd interactive, there are a lot of updates that a site routinely needs. These updates give a good first impression, keep readers interested, and keep information current.

Although I loved my site design from a year ago, it was beginning to feel bogged down and slow loading. I stayed with the same web designer. He did a great job last year, so I thought he’d do a great job this year, too.

A few of the things I wanted to do included

  • Cleaner look
  • White and turquoise color palate
  • Faster Loading
  • Simplified language

One unexpected plugin called Yoast

Eric added YOAST to my widgets. A basic SEO tool that I was unfamiliar with. Cool. That’s why I like using a professional. He knows what he’s doing. And I don’t. So, yes, I’ll take his advice on the inner mysterious workings of the whole blog-o-sphere thing.

Hope you enjoy the new look.

And now. Back to writing.
