The Blurb from Rome

I asked Robin Hemley if he’d write  the third blurb for my book, and then I waited. He was just returning from planning the NonfictioNOW Conference upcoming in October of 2015. He had just returned from taking a group of students to the Philippines. He was on his way to Sardinia. My hopes dwindled. But then this week, I got an email from an airport in Rome!

“Jill,” he wrote, “I think you really wrote your book beautifully. I can see why Dinty chose it. Here’s the blurb. All the best, Robin.”

I danced a jig. SPOILER: here’s the blurb if you care to take a LOOK.

Maybe it’s awkward, but it rather makes me happy when people make you happy. ‘Specially about bookish stuff.

And … it makes me happy, that it makes you happy, that someone made me happy. Yeah.
