MindBodyGreen Essay

A new essay of mine is up at MindBodyGreen today! It was first published in an anthology, The Magic of Memoir, and was over 3,000 words.

MindBodyGreen asked me to edit it down to 1,200 words – a little less than half. And I was happy to do it.

It’s great to have this essay find a digital home!

Thanks, MindBodyGreen. Here’s the link and the title they gave the essay.

Jill: I am weeping. Your courage has inspired me. I am headed to Nigeria for a medical mission in two weeks. I will only be there a few weeks (this time) but I carry your inspiration of courage and openness with me.
