Last night at OK, Write! – the writing club I’m a part of – we chatted, brainstormed and daydreamed. And decided we’d like to branch out and Launch another Writing Club.

The New Nameless Writing Club

We’ve had several writers email and ask to join our club, but with eight members we’re bursting at the seams. It might not sound like it, but by the time we’ve caught up with each other’s writing lives, done a writing prompt, and read some of our own work, the evening has gone by way to fast and too full.

We love our writing club. But we want to (using those horribly overused words) give back. We decided two of us would stay in our current club and also host a new writing club. If it’s a success, we’ll spawn another. Maybe someday we’ll have specific groups: poetry, YA, fiction, CNF. But for now, we’d just like to see if there is an interest.

Basics:

We’ll meet every other Wednesday (more or less) from 5:30 to 7:30, in Moorhead.

Caveat:

We are looking for writers. Not people who “want” to write. But people who write. It’s one thing to talk about writing, and another to put in the work.

We don’t care if you are a beginner, intermediate, or already published author. We don’t care if you have an MFA or not. We don’t care if you write young adult, science fiction, poetry, or obituaries. We don’t care about much. Except this: sitting down and writing.

Interested?

If being with other writers fills you with glee, email me.

If the thought of discussing the intricacies of braided essay work, the differences between Young Adult and New Adult writing, or how to do dialogue better sets your heart on fire, email me.

If, no matter what else is going on, you keep coming back to writing because you Have To.  Go to this page and hit EMAIL JILL

Chuck Wendig said, “Stop talking about writing. Stop reading about writing. Stop dreaming about writing. The thing that defines a writer is that a writer writes.”

I don’t agree with him completely. I talk, read, dream, and write writing. All of the above. But I understand what he means. It’s true.

Animators animate. Lecturers lecture. Photographers photograph. Writers write.

Sound like you? Live in the F/M area? Email me.
