Brewing Up a Party!

“I’m throwing a book party!”

“What’s a book party?”

Yup. I’m throwing a party and it seems like people want to come but nobody really knows what it is. So the next few blogs are going to be about The Party. A book party is like a cross between an open house and a birthday party (without the gifts) … It’s a way to say thank you. It’s a time to celebrate the birth of a brand new book in this wonderful world. And it’s family friendly. Bring your kids! Bring your friends. There will be games and fun stuff. More of that later.

Today it’s about COFFEE. Because you can’t have a party without coffee. I contacted Ty at Twenty Below Coffee and arranged to have him grace the evening with his wonderful coffee. (And here’s a plus: I even learned a few new words while discussing what I had in mind … anybody know what a cambro is?)

I’ve ordered three coffees from Africa. So come expecting to try an Ethiopian Kochere, a Kenyan Coffee, and a (as-of-yet) unspecified decaffeinated coffee possibly from Uganda.

I’m super happy to be working with Ty and Twenty Below Coffee for my party! Can’t wait to taste his labor intense pour-over style coffee. What a treat!

So the party is off to a good start: African Caffeine. The party is a-brewing! Now, to find just the right African music to liven up the atmosphere.

Date: Friday, Feb. 27th.

Time: 6:30 p.m.

Place: 323 Main Ave., Fargo. (River City Church Location)

Free & Open to the Public. Bring your family. Bring your kids.

What to expect: GREAT COFFEE. Door prizes. Photo booth. Book signing. And a Passport …

Also: I really don’t want people to fall asleep at the party. Caffeine is good.
